Self-care can sometimes feel like a chore or something we “have” to do, but it doesn’t have to be that way! Here are 7 Fun Self-Care Ideas for Moms with Bible Verses I think you’ll love! I get bored easily with repetition so I also created this fun but meaningful Biblical Self-Care Bingo. Whether you are an introvert or extrovert, I think you will find these social self care ideas fun and creative!

Group Activities With Other Women

One of the greatest things you can do for yourself is to plan self-care activities with a group of like-minded Christian women. Spending time with other Moms doing fun activities such as Bible Studies, Playdate meet-ups, and meeting for coffee at special restaurants. Have a friend over and Pray for one another!

These self-care tips are so important for your heart and for good mental health. It’s not good to isolate! While you may think you are just having fun…you will be renewed in your spirit. They all count toward self-care.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20

Worship Music

I can’t say enough about how much worshiping the Lord will up your self-care game! Create a playlist of uplifting worship music that helps you connect with God while engaging in self-care activities like exercise, cooking, or dancing.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.” Colossians 3:16

Creative Self-Care

Incorporate creative activities like painting, journaling, crafting, and using your Cricut or Silhouette into your self-care routine… It all counts! Use your creativity as a way to express yourself and connect with God.

Mindful Eating –

Take time to savor and enjoy your meals, and incorporate healthy and delicious foods that nourish your body and soul. Use mealtime as an opportunity to connect with God and give thanks for His provision. Invite others to eat with you! Also, it’s ok to have sweets now and then!

“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Prayer and Meditation –

Incorporate prayer and meditation into your self-care routine. When I say meditate, I mean to meditate on God’s living word. Use this time to quiet your mind, body, and soul. Connect with God by finding nurturing scriptures that remind you of who you are and why you were created. If I have a hard time finding quiet time, I pray and meditate in the shower or bath. Pretty much guaranteed a little peace and quiet there. God WILL meet you where you are!

Nature Time –

Spend time in nature, whether it’s taking a hike, gardening, biking or simply sitting outside and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. Use this time to connect with God and enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature.

Acts of Kindness –

Try to incorporate Acts of Kindness into your self-care routine, such as volunteering or doing something nice for a friend. Doing good for others can be a way to connect with God and experience joy and fulfillment UNLESS you are giving too much…then it will work the opposite and you will burn out. Balance my friend!

Remember friend, self-care should be a joyful and life-giving practice that helps us connect with God and care for ourselves. Find the FUN activities that personally bring you joy and nourish your soul. This is all an act of worship and service to God!
