The other night I made something simply deelish!  And I mean DEELISH! A Pizza Swirl Bread Recipe!  It got rave reviews from the whole fam! One of my favorite things to do is to create pizza recipes…they are just so fun and yummy and EASY.

This  is one of them! Did you know that I have over 20 easy homemade bread recipes that anyone can make??

I don’t know about you, but I get bored in the kitchen kind of easily.  I always need to be doing something a little different with food, even when it’s the most basic foods.  Like I make tons of different recipes out of one pizza dough recipebecause it’s easy to make and so many things can be done with it.

Sooo, this is what I made the other night!

Pizza Swirl Bread YUM!

How to Make Pizza Swirl Bread

First I made my homemade pizza dough…

Ingredients and directions can be found here.

Then I rolled the dough out in an oblong shape and added the usual toppings.  Pizza Sauce (or your fave Spaghetti Sauce) Mozzarella Cheese, we used Genoa Salami and sprinkled some Garlic Salt on top.

Then I rolled the dough length wise like I was making cinnamon rolls.

Now place into either a lightly greased pan or non stick pan..

Now cover with a cotton cloth and let rise for an hour.  This is the second rise.  The first rise is from making the original pizza recipe.

It will double in size.

Now bake in a 375 degree oven for 35 min.  BUT half way through the cooking process, take the bread out and spray with cooking spray, add cheese and sprinkle with Garlic Salt.

The reason that I waited is because I’ve learned that if you put cooking spray on top at the very beginning it absorbs right into the dough and I wanted to use it to hold the Garlic Salt on place and to brown the bread a bit.  AND I didn’t want to put the cheese on too early and burn it.

Pop back into oven for the remaining cooking time.

Ok are you ready for this…Oh yum!

Pizza Swirl Bread

This was so deelish that one of my teens said “Wow Mom this is the most professional bread you’ve ever made!” LOL ok then…I’ll take that as a compliment!

PS..this does take a little time as it raised 2 times…so about 2 hours for the raising and making then 35 min for cooking..but it was worth it.  Maybe I’ll maybe I’ll try one that doesn’t need to raise twice and see how that turns out.  Raise your hand if that sounds like a good idea!  Aww time is at a premium isn’t it?!

Have a Super Blessed day!!

  3. Oh wow, that looks really fantastic! I’m working on changing my pizza dough recipe to include only freshly ground grains, but once I get it right, this bread will be a perfect way to use it (well, besides pizza!). Thanks for sharing!
