Cooking, cooking, cooking…sometimes I just plain get tired of cooking. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE to cook, but there are those days when you think what am I making today. The family expects something sort of spectacular and your mind and body are wiped. I do however have over 20 easy homemade bread recipes that anyone can make in my arsenal, sooo this easy homemade pizza crusted Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza will make your family sing! I like to switch up Pizza Recipes, because they are just so easy.
If you have been cooking for a long time, you may have noticed…there really is nothing new under the sun. One thing I’ve learned that is super important to keeping motivated and creative when it comes to cooking is…just switch it up a recipe a tiny bit and you will have a whole new meal and your family will think you are amazing.
On this particular day, my kids were begging for pizza…again. I wanted to make something thick but with a crispy crust…not doughy. This Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza worked perfectly and my family LOVED it.

Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza
Johnny’s Garlic Spread and Seasoning, 18
- 1/2 – 3/4 cup Ranch Dressing (use your fave!)
3-4 pressed or minced garlic cloves
1 tsp of Johnny’s Garlic Spread Seasoning – optional
1 cup cooked and chopped chicken
Parmesan Cheese ( we like to sprinkle on top)
Optional toppings: Bacon, Green Onions, Red Onions
I’ve shared how to make pizza dough a million times sooo I’m going to skip that part and you can find the recipe here. (this recipe will make enough for two large pizzas)
After you have made your pizza dough press into an oven proof skillet. I love my heat resistant skillets because I can use them not only on the stove top, but also in the oven.
I love my non stick, but I know that many are partial to the good ol iron skillet too!
Mix together: Ranch Dressing, garlic and Johnny’s Garlic Spread Seasoning.
Spread onto dough and add chicken.
Cover and cook on medium for 5 min. Check on the pizza. The pizza should not be sticking so you could even slip a spatula under the pizza and see how dark it is.
Dough should be golden brown. (darker if you like)
Check every 2 min.
This next step is optional and the only reason I did it, was to brown the cheese so that my pictures would be pretty
The cheese was thoroughly melted and dough was completely cooked.
I simply put the pan under the broiler for a couple minutes.
See how it browned the top
Now slide out onto a cutting board and cut!
YUM! A nice thick but crispy crust! It was perrrfect!
So that’s how I switched up a simple pizza recipe. Although we have this pizza all the time…having it thick and crispy made it seem like new! YUM!
