Easy Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza
My family LOVES pizza…like reeally loves it! It’s so expensive these days though, so make my own and let me tell you, IT’S BETTER than any pizza you’ll buy! Seriously! I created this super Easy Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza years ago and it is one of my most requested pizza recipes!
I hope you will try out all the Yummy Pizza Recipes with Step by Step instructions on the blog! You and your family will love them and save a TON of money on your food budget too!
On this particular day, my kids were begging for pizza…again. I wanted to make something thick but with a crispy crust…not doughy. This Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza with white sauce worked perfectly and my family LOVED it.
Some tips for preparing and making this recipe:
- Be sure and make our Homemade Italian Pizza Dough ahead of time or purchase store-bought pizza dough.
- You’ll need a large skillet with a lid.
- You can use a cast iron skillet for this recipe but I’m using my non-stick skillet in this recipe.
- You can use this Skillet Pan Pizza to make any kind of pizza you like. It doesn’t need to be Garlic Chicken.
- There is an optional step at the end of the recipe…optional.

Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza
This Skillet Pizza starts with my Homemade Italian Pizza Dough Recipe. If you are not familiar with this delish recipe, hop over and make that first! Then move on to the Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza below.
Ingredients:
- Ranch Dressing (whatever your family loves)
- Minced Garlic Cloves
- Cooked and Chopped Chicken Breast
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese ( we like to sprinkle on top)
- Johnny’s Garlic Spread Seasoning ~ optional but delish
- Optional toppings: Bacon, Green Onions, Red Onions
Directions:
After you have made your pizza dough (or bought) press into an oven proof skillet. I love my large heat resistant skillets because I can use them not only on the stove top, but also in the oven.
I love my non stick, but I know that many are partial to the their cast iron skillet too! You can use either one but with the cast iron skillet you’ll have to be extra careful about sticking and burning.

To make your sauce for the pan pizza, mix together in a small bowl:
- Ranch Dressing
- Garlic
- Johnny’s Garlic Spread Seasoning ~ optional but delish
Spread the pizza sauce onto your pizza dough in skillet. Then add your Chicken and any other toppings you want.
Now add your cheeses…Mozzarella and Parmesan.
Cover pan with lid and cook on medium for 5 minutes. Lift lid and check on the pizza. Take a spatula and slide under the pizza to see that the bottom is not burning.
Check your Skillet pizza ever 2 minutes or so. When the crust in nice and golden brown and cheese is nicely melted your pizza is done!
This next step is optional and the only reason I did it, was to brown the top of my cheese. The cheese was thoroughly melted and dough was completely cooked.
I simply put the pan under the broiler in my oven for a couple minutes.
See how it browned the top of the pizza! This optional though!
Slide your pizza out onto a cutting board and cut into portions.
YUM! A nice thick but crispy crust! It was perrrfect!
So that’s how I switched up a simple pizza recipe. Although we have this pizza all the time…having it thick and crispy made it seem like new! YUM!

A must try for anyone that LOVES deep dish pizza! We love to make this Garlic Chicken Skillet Pizza, it’s a family favorite!
I definitely have to try this! I am one of those partial to cast iron tho so I would do it in my iron pan. I never made pizza in the frying pan before but why not? Sounds easy enough!
I might even have my kids make it, they keep telling me they want to make homemade pizza 🙂
Hi Dawn! You should definitely make pizza with the kids! It’s super easy and oooh so deelish! I would use an iron skillet too except my husband has iron overload in his blood so we can’t cook in iron. Just make sure your skillet is good and seasoned so it doesn’t stick and oooh it will be SO delish! Thanks for stopping by!
