How To Have The Best Adventures At Home With Kids
I recently saw a post on Facebook of a very elaborate and expensive play set for kids. Not everyone can afford such setups, including me! That’s why I wrote 31 FUN Free Summer Activities for Families with Kids.
I thought of how much fun I’ve had over the years with my kids as they were growing up and all the adventures we used to have with the simple things in life. So I wanted to share some of the fun things we used to do and How To Have The Best Adventures At Home With Kids!
How To Have The Best Adventures At Home With Kids
How do you have fun with your family?
Make learning and exploring and doing a fun adventure!
Adventures can take place right in your home or near your home! Most simple adventures cost very little to nothing.
Things like:
- Learning simple Origami
- Breaking open Geodes rocks to see what’s inside
- Going on outdoor/indoor treasure or scavenger hunts
- Having a small garden and learning about flowers and vegetables ~ even if it’s a container
- Going for walks/hikes in the woods
- Go to the beach ~ collect sea shells (who cares if you don’t NEED them)
- Teach kids to cook
- Take a small appliance apart and put it back together…age appropriate of course
- Find an old camera at a thrift store and let the kids take pictures of their adventures
- Learn about bugs and insects with this free printable workbook!
Of course, the above is a very small list because there is just SO much you can do with your kids without spending an arm and a leg! If you make it sound fun…and you are actually having fun, the kids will have fun too.
Make the world around you an adventure learning place!
- If you live in the city visit museums on free days, then go home and make some art.
- If you live in the country, visit farms and rivers.
- If you live someplace rural, go visit fire stations and police stations.
- Volunteer at community service centers.
