How to Make a Slushy Bar for Kids

I love to create special memories and food for our gatherings, you know… something a little original and unique, so this time I made a fun Slushy Bar for Kids, but the grownups enjoyed it too!  It was such a hit that I we’ve done this several times since!    It’s amazing how something so simple can make such an impact on your guests.

Right before Easter I got sick and so our family gathering was postponed.  Ooooh how I hated to do that, as it’s so hard to get everyone together in one place all at the same time! Boo!  Anyway, we were able to re set a date and had so much fun!  I wanted to make everything extra special, so I created a fun How to Make Slushy Bar for Kids

I’ve since discovered TONS of different flavors and syrups for our Slushy Bars! I’ve added those to the list of ingredients so you can see what will fit your families needs best too!

I thought of several ways that I could use Kool-Aid Easy Mix..aww but I’m getting ahead of myself!  Here is how I made my

How to Make a Slushy Bar for Kids

First Gather Your Supplies:

Directions:

In this recipe we use a Ninja Blender to crush our ice. There are actual Slushy Makers that you can purchase on Amazon, but for us this works fine.

Ok on with the Recipe…

For your Slushy Bar set out different flavors or syrups, flavorings, cups and straws…Help the little ones but let the bigger kids make their own. Let them experiment with different flavors…because they will! 

If you have not bought crushed ice, simply put ice cubes into a blender

Non Alcoholic Slushy Bar for Kids

Only crush as many ice cubes in your blender as it can handle. Kids can wait. You don’t want to ruin your blender.

Spoon crushed ice into a cup…make it as fine or crunchy as you like.

Pack the ice down because when you pour the Kool-Aid Easy Mix in, it will melt a tiny bit.

Just a heads up…these Kool-Aid Easy Mix bottles are not the little tiny ones, they are 18.2 fluid oz.!  Perfect for a Slushy Bar.

Ingredients
  

  • 10 Cups Crushed Ice/shaved ice
  • 1/4 Cup Kool-Aid Easy Mix ~ this was easy and delish
  • Hawaiian Shaved Ice Flavoring ~ but this was even tastier! Optional
  • Time for Treats ~ this was pretty good but very sweet! Optional

Instructions
 

  • Put ice cubes into a blender and Crush!
  • Spoon crushed ice into a cup…make it as fine or crunchy as you like.
  • Pack the ice down because when you pour the Kool-Aid Easy Mix in, it will melt a tiny bit.
  • That is it for the Slushy Bar! Oh so easy and yet a big hit!

Fruity Snack Roll Ups

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tortilla
  • 1/4 Cup Fruit ~ Fresh (you can use frozen, but as the fruit unthaws is gets a little damp)
  • 2 Tbsp. Plain Cream Cheese

Directions:

Mix Cream Cheese with Kool-Aid Easy Mix, flavor of choice.  It comes in Cherry, Tropical Punch and Grape.

Then spread onto a Tortilla.

Next top with Fruit, Roll up and then cut into bite size pieces.

These were sooo deelish that my husband even loved them and asked if we could have them more often!  No kidding!
