Making Room for the Unexpected
As you well know life is anything but simple. Even when we have control over our schedules, somehow it can get turned upside down with just a few extra unexpected things. That’s the real world. Kids get sick, unexpected birthday invitations, relatives coming to stay, emergency Dr. appts. Well you get the picture. As Moms it’s our job to juggle the unexpected into our schedules and routines. To go with the flow.
Over the years I have found that my spiritual health and emotional health, directly impact my physical health. This is not rocket science, but sometimes I can get caught off guard with that bump in the road when real life happens and then I am thrown for a loop and find it hard to get back on track. Then I feel like a failure and it can start a downward spiral effect.
I have some simple routines in place so that I can more easily get re-focued. Some of my very simple routines and preperations:
- Having a few easy freezer dinners ready to go at all times.
- Having a master grocery list that I shop off of most of the time.
- My master grocery list would contain ingredients that I have for a meal plan for at least a week…or more
- My actual routines written down. Sometimes during times of stress, I forget what it is that I am suppose to do next:) This way I just look at my written routine and do it without wasting too much brain power.
- Always, spend time with the Lord – everyday – He is the one that will help us refocus!
What are some of the routines that help you get re-focused? I would love for you to share them!
I know how wonderful it is to have a meal in the freezer! I need to get some more made up – went through them all lately!
Me too OneMommy! It’s easy for me to use them all up and not save them for when I really need them :/ LOL..Everyday is a busy day around here 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
This is a great post, Shari! I have always wanted to have meals ready in the freezer, but have just never gotten around to it. Maybe with these recipes, now I’ll actually do it!
Oh thanks Ginny! You didn’t actually have to come back and comment..you are so sweet 🙂 Blessings!
