Green Smoothie

A good rule of thumb is 60% fruit & 40% leafy greens. Your smoothie will be green but it won’t taste like spinach or kale.

Here’s an example:
1 banana (gives thickness and sweetens)
1/2 c. fruit: peaches, pears, pineapple, etc.
1 cup spinach or kale leaves
4 ice cubes
1/2 c.: milk, soy milk rice milk, juice, kefir, etc.
sweetener (optional): honey, maple syrup, dates to taste

Blend in blender until combined.

Add whatever you like!  I add whatever I have around.  Fruit,  juice,  yogurt,  milk,  ice…ANYTHING!  Mmmmmm!!

  1. Yum! This is actually the exact one I do with kale but I use 1/2 banana and 1/2 mango. Everything else is the same. Oh, and I also include 1 tbl of whole ground flax seed. Delicious!!

  2. I’m glad that I’m not the only one that puts spinach in my smoothies! My friends find it totally unappealing, but it really doesn’t affect the taste…just the color! pinned!

    1. Hi Kristi! Yes spinach is good in smoothies. I don’t think people believe it really does not have any flavor with all that tasty fruit 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
