Life in Northern Ontario is absolutely cool and colourful. The reds and yellows and oranges of the leaves are picturesque while the temperature averages 9 degrees Celsius. J, my daughter,  is enjoying all the fall activities for preschoolers we have done so far.

Recently, we decided to do something neither of us have ever done before- bake cookies. I am sure most parents and their kids have warm memories of baking with their kids but I am not a baker or a lover of sweet things. However, J has a sweet tooth like no other and so I decided on making cookies. Today,

I will be sharing our Lazy Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies that J and I made. She prefers to call them “Fall Cookies”.

Fall Activities for Preschoolers- Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies

I had initially planned to make the cookies from scratch but with a 1 year old who is super clingy to his mommy, I was very happy to see that we had a cookie mix in the cupboard. Here is what we did. J was in charge of stirring while I had to calm her 1 year old brother and she also rolled the dough as well. I was very happy that she enjoyed the sensory experience of baking.

Once your cookies are done, you can snuggle with your preschooler with a cup of warm milk and some cookies. You can even read a fall related book or work on your fall activities for preschoolers bucket list.
