I LOVE to make Homemade Gourmet Coffee Drinks at home! I’ll show you How to Make a Caramel Latte with Drip Coffee.  I have an espresso machine but I know many don’t, so here’s a super simple tutorial for a yummy cup of Joe!

I love to spend a little time with God and make myself a special coffee before the whirlwind of kids come home from school. It’s just one of my 40 Easy Self Care Ideas for Busy Tired Moms!

You know that little break that every Mom needs right?!   Not long ago I would have my first cup of coffee and have my quiet time at 5:00 a.m. in the morning, but as I get busier blogging and with my new VA services, I need to get more done in the early, early morning… job wise.

I still have my coffee first thing in the morning of course…as a matter of fact I have a timer on my coffee maker so that when I get up the coffee is made!  It’s like having the maid come over and make my coffee before I get out of bed! LOL  I can dream can’t I!?

Honestly though, I can’t live without my quiet time with God, oh and my Caramel Latté.  Being a Mom of 7 kids has taught me to be ready, not just to meet the physical needs of my family (cooking, running errands etc.) but also to be ready for the emotional side of parenting.

If you have teens you know exactly what I am talking about.  in the after noon I take time out of whatever it is I’m up to, grab my coffee basket and make  myself a special coffee drink.

Right now my daughter and I are struggling in our relationship.  She’s 16 and at that age where she wants to be independent and doesn’t want to be mothered, not out loud anyway.

I’ve found that if I am not ready and peaceful when she comes home from a hard day at school and sports, we are likely to get into a tiff about the stupidest things.

I can’t control her but I can control myself and handle things the way the Lord would have me to do.  So everyday before she comes home I spend that time in God’s word and being renewed.

It has been making a world of difference in our relationship and I’m reminded everyday that our family verse for many years has been Love Never Fails.

Take off the lid and  put into the microwave for about 30 seconds, this will stiffen and set the foam so that you can scoop it out.  If you prefer you can pour all of the Milk into your coffee.
