I’ve been working hard on getting my eating habits better and losing a little weight.. I don’t know why but I have been so unmotivated. I’m not too overweight, but enough to make me feel uncomfortable. I could definitely benefit by losing about 15-20 lbs.
I really am a very health conscious person. I really do eat pretty well..BUT I have gotten in the habit of snacking on too much junk food and my portions are crazy too big! Oh yes and those little desserts after meals..well there addin up!
So I’ve been wrestling with God about the whole thing. Do you ever wrestle with God? I think He likes it, because He knows He’s going to win! LOL As a matter of fact I wrote a little article called “Why Do I Do It” not too long ago regarding my struggles and “why” I do the things I do!
Well my wrestling has come to a resounding loss once again to my Lord. He always wins my heart over. So this is what He has spoken into my heart:
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat it’s fruit.” Proverbs 18:21
“The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” Gal. 6:8
“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” 2 Cor. 9:6
My point here is that God reminded me that there is a principal at work in our lives of reaping and sowing..life or death.
This principal demands a response doesn’t it. Give generously, live wisely and spirit filled, speak life or speak death. What I do today will decide what my tomorrow will be. God has shown me that even as I am eating my food I am bringing life to my body and yet WHAT I am eating could ultimately bring death if I do not bring this under control.
I plan on living a long time. Of course this is up to the Lord we all know that, but it is my responsibility to take care of the body that God has given me. To bring life to it and nourish it with life giving food.
I would like to reap a harvest of long life..wouldn’t you? What seeds are you sowing?
