I am totally honored to review another beautiful masterpiece written by Jennie Allen in conjunction with Thomas Nelson.  It is a bible study called Chase.  This is the second of Jenny’s bible studies..her first being Stuck.   Stuck,  met with great success and I am excited to see how well received Chase will be also.

Chase by Jennie Allen-A Bible Study Review You Will Love!

Now I am a bit fanatical when it comes to bible study.  I just have to be in God’s word…oh yes I have seasons when I am so busy that days slip by..sometimes a week or so..but I am the first to admit I NEED GOD!  Without Him I’m a total mess..a total wreck…a selfish, self-centered mess.

I’ve been doing bible studies with women for well over 20 years..I’m almost always in a study with others..because it keeps me accountable.  Even when I don’t want to be in a study..I’m in one anyway.  It’s God’s way for me…

Anyway…I found that CHASE was a very different kind of study..one that will challenge our focus and bring you to the heart of God…

I’m sooo excited to share Chase with you..whether you are a Women’s Ministry Leader or just want to grow in your walk with the Lord…you are going to want to check out Jennie Allen’s Chase!   Chase leads us to take a look at just what we β€œchase after”,  using the life of David as the main character study…a man after God’s own heart…a man that God chose to lead the nation of Israel.

I really loved this DVD study because there is nothing more important and exciting than being β€œAll in”…  In being all that God has created us to be…but without stripping away the worldly things that we chase after to fill up that empty space in our hearts…we can truly get sidetracked.  Sidetracked from the best that God has for us.  From the best that we have to offer to God and others for His glory.

Jennie leads us with much grace to the heart of God and reveals His heart for us!  How He longs for us and CHASES after us!

A brief Q & A from Jennie reveals her heart about this study..

Why is the story of David in Chase one that you feel women today need
to hear?

Jennie: David is the wild, passionate, warrior king, but something about the way he related to God
has wrecked me. His view of God was so big. David actually believed God and he lived like it. I
think as a generation of women, we are longing for the same lives. We want to believe God is real
and to live like it.

This is not a study for people wanting to play it safe… This study messes with you because we
all are chasing things other than God, and when you look into the life of someone chasing God
himself… God alone, you start craving that. I want a life like David’s, brave and dependent and full
of worship. He had a relationship with God unlike any other in Scripture; honestly, unlike any other
I’ve ever seen. I want to know God like he did and trust God like he did

This is a very intimate bible study and is sure to touch your very heart and cause you to grow for the glory of God.

But…

Not only is it deep and intimate..it is very fun and different!

Sooo…. for all of you detail minded ladies out there the Chase study comes with:

Chasebyjennieallen

  • The Leaders Guide:  This guide is very thorough!  Jennie explains in detail what her heart and vision are for your women in this study β€œThat women would be pointed to God, a God worth dying for.”  Then equips you to point the women of your group to God in ways that will change there lives.  I particularly appreciated the tips and things to watch out for and types of learners because sometimes these things are not explained and a new leader can get a bit thrown off focus because of some of these things.

  • 1 Chase Study Guide:  Loved the format in the Study Guide.  It starts out by setting guidelines for the groups and the authority of scripture, then moves on to explain just who David is and why we study his character in light of God’s word.   The homework is deep but not overwhelming.  It is very interactive and there are 4 β€œprojects” to complete each week to help you further process how to live God’s Word out in your lives.  Oh and I love the paper and pictures!  These are different too!

  • DVD:  There are 8 sessions on the DVD.  Each session is 8-12 minutes long.

  • Conversation Cards!:  Can I jump up and down now!!??? I loved these!  There is a set of Conversation Cards for each week to go with the previous weeks study.  Each card has a question on it and it is a time of deep sharing.  Just a little side note..I used to hate those kind of cards..you know..the kind that people pull out at the dinner table or at a party and then make you answer a question right on the spot..without even thinking about it..without rehearsing the exact right answer..well you get what I mean..I was trying to be perfect..Umm there is no perfect person..so now I think they are fun! LOL  It may have taken me a couple of years to get to that point! HA!

So there you have it!

Chase…run to it and embrace what God has in store for you!

Women’s Ministry leaders,  I encourage you to get the study for an exciting and fruitful time of growth in God’s amazing Word with your Women!

  1. Sounds like an awesome Bible study Shari! I may have to check it out. I, too, am in Bible studies all the time with other women. The one group focuses on mothering though…don’t think they would be interested in this particular study. Although, the other group (that I’m less faithful to) does this type of study all the time….

    1. Awesome Colleen…totally understand what you mean. There are definitely different kinds of groups for growing and learning for sure. It’s a great study though πŸ™‚ Have a great Resurrection Sunday!
      Blessings!
