We as Christians must not love the world or be like it, even though we must live in it. We must make a deliberate effort to renew our minds and know what the will of God is by being in His Word and spending quality time with Him each day. 2 Know Him More!
Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Being transformed is a supernatural thing, but a real thing. The more time we spend with God, the more we become like Him.
Is that a scary thing? It shouldn’t be…
Just a few of God’s attributes:
- Loving
- Fair
- Trustworthy
- Kind
- Honest ~ He cannot lie
- Merciful
- Gracious
Don’t we want to be like that?
Let’s not conform to this world any longer ok…because here is a simple warning…
Those that spend time with idols (any kind of idol) will become just like them. That means all the attributes that go along with them. Ouch!
Psalm 135:15-18
“The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
made by human hands.
They have mouths, but cannot speak,
eyes, but cannot see.
They have ears, but cannot hear,
nor is there breath in their mouths.
Those who make them will be like them,
and so will all who trust in them.”
