Well it’s finally time to plant my veggies!  It has been so hard to wait,  but a friend of mine told me long ago..don’t plant anything in the Pacific Northwest until after May 1.  I made a mistake a couple of times and went ahead and planted anyway..my plants died 🙁  And my seeds did not come up!  So I had to start all over!

One of the other things I’ve learned is that it’s really important to start with excellent organic soil.  It takes alot of proper nutrition for plants and veggies to grow strong and healthy.  I only use organic plant food..especially when growing veggies.  After all we will be eating all those yummies!  So this year I will be trying Whitney Farms®  to keep our veggies growing strong.

Whitney Farms is 100% Natural plant foods and soils with no additives.  It’s very easy to apply and doesn’t smell like manure…that’s a good thing 😉  They have been around for over 25 years and have a name and reputation you can trust.  I have personally used many Whitney Farms products over the years.

As you can see my garden looks rather boooring right now.. in a few weeks though it will be bursting with life.

I’ll come back and show you when things are springing up.  I’m growing a smaller garden this year and have decided to remove some flowers from my flower bed and just put veggies there.  I have LOTS of other places for flowers 🙂  Also on the other side of that big bush, is another part of my veggie garden.

This is a great place to grow my veggies because I get lot’s of sunshine from the Southern exposure.  It’s important that you let your veggies get a minimum of 6 hours of sunshine.  6 is cutting it close..but can still grow veggies.

Whitney Farms® has several new products out this year that I am looking forward to trying.  Especially the Tomato and Vegetable Food!
