Passing a Healthy Lifestyle From Generation to Generation
I participated in a Blogger Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Stonyfield. I received coupons to facilitate my shopping trip and a promotional item to thank me for participating
My daughter is a bit fanatical…I’m not quite sure where she gets it?! HA! Actually I am, of course. She takes fantastic care of her health and makes sure that she is doing the same with her children.. that’s 2 of my daughters in the picture..they had just gotten done running a half marathon! They don’t even look tired! I like to think that I have been passing a healthy lifestyle from generation to generation.
That’s why..
I’m really excited to share how Stonyfield Organic Yogurt Pouches fit into a healthy lifestyle for her and her children! Oh, she’s the one on the right.
As Mother’s day draws near…I start to ponder about my role as a Mother. I watch my daughter as she mothers her own children.
Do you ever wonder if all of training and teaching you do will make a difference in your child’s lives?
There are so many ups and downs in raising children..victories and what seems like defeats…at the time. Yet, parenting is definitely a marathon not a sprint. A Moms job is a huge faith builder as we navigate what God wants us to train our children in and what we should let go of.
You would think that I would have a special formula with 7 kids..one that is tried and true..you know, a sure thing! I’ve had my ups and downs as much as the next Mommy on the block.
BUT…
I’m here to tell you that your Mothering actions, attitudes and love does make a difference! Differences you may not see for many years to come. You must not EVER lose hope and you must never EVER give up.
I became sober after many years of addiction (30 years ago) I was determined to make a better life for myself and my children. Who were then 10 and 8. Besides passing on my spiritual life, I began a radical journey of Whole Foods, Natural Living, Organic Eating..whatever you want to call it.
Through the years this journey has taken me from milling my own grain into flour to amazing physical fitness to…well you get the picture.
I remember having a membership to the YMCA when my older kids were teens and they would go with us..or go with friends. My husband and I would go on long bike rides and we would come home to a very healthy meal. Being a good example of taking good care of ourselves.
Part of living a healthy lifestyle is knowing just what you are eating and going without the extra goodies that are sometimes put into packaged foods…I know you know that
So did all of this healthy, natural living make a difference in my children’s lives?
YES!
Back to my daughters “fanatical” healthy lifestyle..not just her but all of my big kids..they are all in their 30’s now with families of their own.
If you open up my daughters cupboards or frig you can definitely see a healthy array of food. Many organic. One thing she insists upon giving her children is Stonyfield’s Organic Yogurt and recently they have come out with some awesome pouches for YoBaby, YoToddler and YoKids! Pouches people!! I love pouches…talk about saving on messes and letting those little baby doll’s be independent! Yay! I personally want to say “I LOVE YOU!” to whoever invented POUCHES!! LOL I know I’m weird. My daughter and I are both jumping for joy on this one!
All of the Stonyfield organic yogurt pouches contain pure organic ingredients and never any high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. That ROCKS! They also have lots of different flavors to choose from. Including fruit and veggie pouches! My Grandson loved the Blueberry! You can check here to see if you can find these pouches at a store near you!
Well I’ve found a little more balance in my life since the days of milling all of my own grains and so forth. We still eat many organic foods, but honestly not every single thing I buy is organic. When it comes to my grandchildren however..well my daughter will only serve up the very best organics. Stonyfield being one of them
The moral of the story…we are not living to please ourselves. Good living or bad living..it will pass on from one generation to another. I’m so very thankful that God gave me a chance to pass on for generations to come..a healthy lifestyle and Godly virtues.
