I used to think that…it took me many years to BELIEVE that God was really interested in ME.  I wondered “does God really know me?”  and if He did..He wouldn’t like what He sees…never the less I wanted #2KnowHimMore!

Are you one of those people that when you see God do amazing things in someone else’s life you think  “God will do wonderful things for others, but me…well I’m just thankful He saved me!”  You think you don’t deserve amazing things in your life.  Or maybe you think God doesn’t REALLY want that super intimate relationship with you.

Journaling: Does God Really Know Me?

So does God REALLY know me?

Did you journal this week?

Did you buy yourself a new pretty journal did you grab your Bible and pen and write a few sentences in it?

Or maybe you figured what different is it going to make in your spiritual journey…in getting #2KnowHimMore.

Well let me just give you some scriptures to pour over this coming week.  To put into your heart, not to just read but to BELIEVE because every word in the Bible is true!

2 Chronicles 16:9 says “for the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

God is looking for your heart, he’s looking to see that YOU are looking for HIM, he knows you and he hears you.

Journaling…. even if its only for 5 minutes a day, is a way to set aside time to say to God “My heart is set apart for you Lord, committed to you.”

Romans 12:1 –2 “therefore I urge you brothers in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies a living sacrifice is, holy and pleasing to God this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your spirit then you will be able to sit test and approve what God’s will is it good pleasing and perfect will.”

Did you catch the part about being transformed.  This is a supernatural thing that only can be done by spending time with God.

It’s not a scary thing. .it’s an amazing transformation that takes place over time.  You know the saying “you become like the people you hang out with” Well the more time we spend with God the more we become like him.

Do YOU believe God wants to have a relationship with you? You alone?

Do you believe God has the power to transform you?

Do you believe God’s word is true,  accurate and trustworthy?

Fill in the blanks with your name in this love letter from God and print. (click on pic for PDF)

Journaling Psalm 139

It only takes faith as small as a mustard seed!

[Tweet “Journaling is about you and God alone, in that secret place, where he can hear your heart and you can hear his.”]

It is where we are transformed and work through problems and issues of this life, with open hearts and open minds to be who God created us to be!

Want to know him more?  Get out that pencil and paper and Bible and spend five minutes, just five little minutes or more and he will reveal himself to you.

  1. I’ve never been one to do much journaling. I love to write, but I don’t like writing!! 😉 By that, I mean that I don’t care for the pen-and-paper kind of writing – I much prefer to type! But in just the past few weeks I’ve begun to jot more notes during my quiet time. I wouldn’t really call it a journal, but the act of committing to paper what God is teaching me using a few simple words has been powerful in my life. Thank you for sharing this encouragement with us at Grace & Truth!

  2. Thank you for all the practical suggestions. I have years and years worth of journals and am thankful for the evidence of time spent with God.
