It’s so easy in this fast paced flashy world to feel so much less than we really are. To feel lost in a crowd, to feel alone when there are a million people around us. We can feel so insignificant and the day to day grind can get us feeling down and feeling a little or a lot depressed.
Just how DO we live an extraordinary life? I mean, we’re just ordinary people my friends!

Yes my friend that is the truth of the matter and it’s a wonderful truth! It sets us free from having to be something more than what we really are. All the gifts and talents that we have belong to God anyway. So that HE may be glorified.
“But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.” 1 Corinthians 1:27-29
As we go about our everyday ordinary life, serving those around us. Loving those around us…
THIS is how we live an extraordinary life.
If we are listening, God will direct our path each day. He will bring us to those that need our help and love, and sometimes … many times, those that need the most, live right inside the same home we live in.
A few months ago I was going about my business just living life. Nothing too out of the ordinary…work, work, home, home… You know the usual!
Then one day we had a HUGE family crisis…we have A LOT of crisis’s, but this one…IT WAS BIG.
I had to stop, stop everything. I went to work, I blogged, but I had to stop and refocus on Jesus…The Author and Perfector of my faith. I was weak and confused…
God called me to refocus on the person in my family that needed my UNDIVIDED attention. Day by day we got through this, but had I continued along my own path, I may have missed a few things that needed addressing. God showed me things I needed to do, say, be.

Although we live an ordinary life…we are anything BUT ordinary.
We ARE extraordinary…
Let’s not cave under the TV Star and celebrity mentality that says we need to be MORE, MORE, MORE.
You my friend already ARE EXTRAORDINARY!
And that is your cue to rest. Rest this week, don’t strive. Enjoy life and listen to God. Who knows… that neighbor may need a little help or your child may need to show you a bug…which by the way, bugs are extraordinary, don’t you think?!
