There is something about taking the time to just sit, relax and doodle or color.  Sometimes it’s hard to be still, to hear from God and to rest in Him…knowing that all is well with our soul, because sometimes it feels like it’s not.  Right?!

I journal all the time and in my journal I doodle a lot.  I haven’t really figured out how to put my doodles on paper to share with the rest of the world, but I know many who have and I can’t think of a better way to spend 30 min or so getting lost in being creative and listening to that still small voice.

Coloring books that Teach and Inspire Gods Word

The other day I was looking at the art of some of my favorite artists and found that they had created coloring books!  How fun is that!

I thought you might be interested in them too, so I did a little round up of coloring books that teach and inspire Gods word for you and you littles.  Some you have to order, I have an affiliate link on those and some are absolutely free…mostly the kid ones.  So while the lazy days of summer are still sizzling…take some time to color, doodle and get Gods word into your heart.

Karla Dornacher is one of my all time favorites.  Her artwork has been around for many years and when I found out that she created a coloring book, I was so excited.  Simple Blessings.

I absolutely adore My Bible Coloring Book by Shirley Dobson!  This is an awesome way to teach your kids the word of God and to have fun doing it.  Could be added to any church program or homeschool curriculum or a lazy Sunday afternoon!

I’m sorry but I’m sort of one of those Moms that likes most everything I give my kids to “teach” something.  It’s the Homeschooler in me that comes out! LOL  Why not teach you little ones about cooking as they color up a storm? Simple illustrations along with simple little recipes.  So fun!  Color & Cook Story Coloring Book.

Ok so we all know that kids can go through coloring pages at lightening speed sometimes..although it’s good to help them to slow down and do their “best” work.  Here are some FREE coloring pages that also teach.

One of my faves is ChristianAnswers.net Kid Explorer Coloring Pages.  They teach, inspire and have a TON of topics using sound biblical teaching.

Maureen at Spell Outloud created these super cut scripture coloring pages for you OR your kids to color!

Now is a great time to stock up on Art Supplies as it’s the time the all of the sales are coming out for Back to School.  You can get them oooh so cheap.  Water colors, crayons, markers, colored pencils, chalk.  Try all sorts of medians to see which you like best.

In case you don’t want to use kid supplies here is a list of supplies you can order that are super deeeluxe but not too expensive:

I pray you will be inspired to take a few minutes each day or so to just relax, hear from the Lord and use your creativity all at the same time.

I’ve always been very surprised at the creativity God has given me by just taking the time to listen and quiet down. I’m no different than you…

You my friend were MADE TO CREATE!

Enjoy and have a Super Blessed Day! o
