It all started when I saw my Pastor’s wife whisper something in her child’s ear one day. The countenance of that child’s face just lit up from whatever it was she whispered. Well not wanting to be nosy I just ignored it..until I saw her do it again on another occasion. Only this time I was close enough to hear what she whispered..there was something so tender and intimate about her whisper. A special moment between the two of them amidst people, yet only her and her child would share together…
This was many years ago, but it touched my heart so. I had wished that someone had whispered these sweet truths into my ear when I was young. So when I started having more children guess what I whispered in their ears?

Young or old..We all love to have something kind whispered gently into our ears. Only God knows how it builds our Spirit 🙂 I still whisper into my kids ears and even at 10, 13 and 15 it brings a special smile on there face.
Just as God whispers to our Heart…let’s pass that whisper on to our kids and speak life giving words!

Words are more powerful than you think. A single word can bring us to anger or tears, but to a child, hearing kind words from the person they trust the most is the most important. What a beautiful post Shari. I don’t have kids, but I can relate with all my Nanny experience. Funny, I still babysit after all these years, because kids keep me honest and their “words” are priceless.
I bet you are THE best babysitter! I can tell!! 🙂 and Yes kids can keep us very humble with the things they say. Blessings Sonia!
I absolutely LOVE this idea! I told my now-adult kids things like this a lot, but didn’t actually whisper the words. I’ll remember it when I have grandkids (and can still use it sometimes with my adult kids)! I stumbled and bookmarked this post!

All of my children are too tall for me to whisper in their ear. Ha! Seriously … I wish I would have done this when they were young. Soon, I will have grandkids, and I will definitely incorporate sweet whispers into our relationship. 🙂

Ha! that’s funny Brenda! My big ones are too tall and my younger are getting too tall LOL But I still find a way to sneak a whisper in. As far as the big ones go..I wish I had done that when they were young also…But to tell you the truth I still sneak in a whisper now and then to my big kids and say something like “you’re an awesome mom” “your the best son” You know just something sweet!

Such a beautiful idea! I try to tell my kids I love them every day (a bunch of times), but we haven’t done whispering yet… I’m going to have to give that a try!
