John 3:16 says “For God so love the world that He gave his one and only Son,  that whoever would believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”

What good news!  You know before I became a Christian (many years ago Smile)  I hated any talk of God.  I had no idea how much He loved me.  I didn’t know that if I were the only person on this earth He still would have sent his wonderful Son, Jesus,  to die just for me!  And it is true of you also.

Before I was a Christian I didn’t even know what the word “sin” meant.  It seemed like such an evil word!  I had made a lot of mistakes but I certainly didn’t feel evil!  More good news..my easy way of explaining “sin” is “mistakes”.  Whether these mistakes are hidden in our heart away from the rest of the world or maybe they are out where everyone can see them..they are still mistakes (sin)

Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

You see God is perfect..we are not..so how do we get to this perfect God that loves us so much?  Through His Son Jesus Christ!  All we need to do is accept that we are sinners (imperfect people),  And accept God’s most precious gift,  His Son Jesus Christ!  You see sin has to be paid for and because of God’s great mercy He gave his PERFECT Son to be the ultimate sacrifice..for US.  Because He loves us so much!

It may not make sense, because it is so unimaginable how much God loves us,  but it’s true!  If you would like to accept Gods free gift of eternal life and accept Jesus into your heart you could just say a simple little prayer…prayer is just talking to God,  just as you would talk to a friend.

You might say:

“Dear God,  I know that I have made lot’s of mistakes (sin)  I ask you to please forgive me.  I would like to accept your free gift of eternal life and ask your Son Jesus Christ into my heart.  Even though I don’t understand everything about this mystery I choose to believe.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit and teach me your ways.”

You can say anything you want!  It does not have to be perfect.  This is an intimate prayer between you and God.  God knows your heart.  The above is just a short little prayer guide Smile
