Ingredients
•1 Large Sweet onion ( like Maui
Vidalia, Walla Walla)
Tbsp
•2 . melted Butter
Tsp
•1 . Dijon Mustard
Tsp
•1 . Honey Mustard
Tbsps
•3 . Panko Bread Crumbs or Plain Bread Crumbs
Panko is larger and crispy
Tsp
•1 . Low Sodium Garlic Salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Cut off and discard the root.
Peel onion
Cut into about 16 wedges, cut through almost to through..but NOT all the way through. Leave the bottom in tact…
Place on a sheet of foil and fold up all the edges around it.
Place in a little pan.
Put in oven and roast for 20 minutes
While Onion is in oven, in a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Honey mustard and Garlic Salt. Mix well.
Remove Onion from oven and carefully open foil.
Gently brush on the Butter mixture all over and in between layers of Onion.
You’ll need to pull apart some of the layers to get in between..but it’s really easy.
Now sprinkle on Panko or Bread Crumbs..Lifting layers to get in between with bread crumbs too
Now place back into oven and bake another 15 to 20 minutes.
Watch so that the tips don’t get too burned.
