Mini Pizzas With Homemade Pizza Dough

By Shari Lynne 19 Comments

Yesterday as I was making up some lunch and planning for dinner I decided to make these Mini Pizzas with Homemade Pizza Dough I had made for lunch.  I love to create and show people how to make 10 yummy pizza recipes step by step because my family loves them and I think yours will too!

Sometimes my kids really just need a small snack rather than a big ol pizza, especially if they are in a hurry to get out the door.  So I figured these would be perfect because I could make them up and then pop them in the freezer for later.

Hey did you know that these mini pizzas also make a great breakfast!?  Well for my kids anyway…they LOVE pizza for breakfast. If you love bread recipes I’ve created over 20 more you may just love!

So here you go…just a quick little tutorial.

Mini Pizzas With Homemade Pizza Dough

Ingredients:

Homemade Pizza Dough ~ This recipe makes 2 LARGE pizzas, so cut the recipe in half if you want a smaller batch.

  • 2 Cups warm water
  • 2 T brown sugar
  • 2 T yeast

Whisk together and let the yeast proof..this means you let it sit and get foamy/bubbly (about 10 minutes)

Then add:

  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 1/2 t salt
  • 5 Cups flour  ( you can use any kind of flour)  If you use wheat..be sure and mix only 1/2 wheat with 1/2 white or it will be too dry.
  • Then Knead for 5 min.
  • Let rise for 1 hour

Rest of Recipe

  • Any sauce you like…I used canned spaghetti sauce and ranch garlic sauce
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Garlic Salt (optional)
  • Shredded Parmesan/Romano (optional)

Directions for Mini Pizza:

Roll out pizza dough and use a round cookie cutter or glass for little pizzas ~

Put onto a cookie sheet and add topping.  If you have Cornmeal, this is great to sprinkle on first as this keeps the pizza from sticking to sheet.

Bake in the oven at 450 degrees for about 15 minutes.

Let cool completely before putting them into freezer bags and freezing.

That is it my friend!  Your kids will love this super simple snack and you will know just what is in the recipe!

You can keep these for at least a month in the freezer too!

Blessings!

What a great idea! I have made mini “english muffin” pizzas for our kids many times, but didn’t even think about doing it with homemade pizza dough – what a fun idea and perfect for that quick snack too!

Yummy! I’ve been wanting to make my own pizza dough for a while. I make all our own breads and cook as much as possible from scratch, but pizza is still one thing I haven’t tried. I’m too afraid I’m going to screw it up.

Oh my, these are SO cute! They remind me of a pizza boat but of course, they are the actual pizza. Great idea and thank you for sharing it on the Art of Home-Making Mondays! 🙂

What a fantastic idea! Is it sad that I just texted my husband and told him “bring home pizza dough, I saw something I need to try!”?

These look delicious! Mini-pizzas are one of our favorites, but I admit we mostly cheat – we use pita bread or bagels instead of homemade dough, lol!
