The temperature’s are sweltering here in the Pacific Northwest…as in many parts of the country! It reached over 90 degrees here yesterday…Whoosh..we are just not used to that kind of heat!
So how do you stay cool in your neck of the woods in this kind of heat? We decided to go against the flow with Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Puffs and a pool party! We don’t have air conditioning… I mean the few days that we have heat like this, just doesn’t justify the cost for us..but oh how I wished we had it this week!
Last Fall our neighbors gave us a pool! Now I feel about a pool about the same as I feel about air conditioning in the Pacific Northwest..not really worth the investment or time. However, when I heard that the temps were going to soar this week…I thought YAY we have a pool. YES!! We’ll get it out and have a little swim party!
We got that pool out and pumped up the rim and began to fill it with water. The kids started calling a few of their friends to come over…my daughter begged her big brother to stay home for a change and have some fun. She’s a bit obsessed with the fact that he’s graduating next year and she’s going to miss him..LOL she’s preparing ahead of time 🙂 Anyway that’s another topic..
We were excited to try these awesome new Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Puffs. We have been eating “fishy crackers” like forever and LOVE them! I mean who doesn’t! These new Goldfish Puffs seemed like the perfect older kids snack, trust me…they were a hit. Word of caution..they are addicting!
I also liked the packaging because it is reclosable..love packages like that!
I had to go back and buy more for our pool party because they ate the first couple of bags.. 😛 The Cheddar Bacon and Mega Cheese were the favorite flavors!
While the pool was filling the kids began a contest to see who could catch the most Goldfish Puffs in their mouths in 1 minute…the boy won..
As friends began to arrive we noticed a little problem with the pool…there were leaks in it…WHAT..we have a bunch of kids coming over to play! We spent waaay too long trying to find the leaks in the pool in that heat…so this is what our swimming and Goldfish Puffs fun boiled down too….
About 3 inches of water! Well it was more full but it all leaked out..my 12 year old and one of her friends had fun anyway…it was just so hot that any amount of water was great to them…the rest of the kids..well they just hung out and ate Goldfish Puffs and had fun having little contests like the one my son was doing..LOL All in all it was a fun HOT day.
So much for the pool idea….we spent hours trying to patch and find little holes…now we know why we’ve never gotten one! LOL Oh I know we could buy a new one…but still would it be worth the work?? Naawww…that’s just me..
