Housework

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweatshirt.

Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, “What setting do I use on the washing machine?”

“It depends,” I replied. “What does it say on your shirt?”

He yelled back, “University of Oklahoma.”

God is Watching

Children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, “Take only one, God is watching.”
At the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. Moving through the line a boy wrote another note to leave by the cookies, “Take all you want, God is watching the apples.”

“Well, I had to toss it 35 times

Faith Filled Humor–Reminding Everyone to Take Time to Laugh

Take time to laugh this upcoming New Year.. Smile

Here are a few end of the year silly quotes I found here and there around the neighborhood..just to make you smile a little…This video cracks me up because it’s totally the question I ask all my kids ALL the time..no matter what! LOL  It’s short!

~~“I’m gonna order a pizza 5 minutes before the New Year and when they arrive I’ll say ‘I ordered this pizza a year ago!’

~~Dear God, my prayer for 2013 is a fat bank account and thin body.  Please don’t mix these up like you did last year.

~~People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas.

~~A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination,  looking at the old pages as he turned them.  Then something fell out,  and he picked it up and looked at it closely.  It was an old leaf from a tree that had been pressed in between the pages.
“Momma, look what I found,” the boy called out.
“What have you got there, dear?” his mother asked.
With astonishment in the his voice,  he answered,  “It’s Adam’s Suit!”

~~I had been teaching my three-year old daughter,  Caitlin,  the Lord’s Prayer.  For several evenings,  at bedtime,  she would repeat after me the lines from the prayer.
Finally, she decided to go solo.  I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word,  right up to the end of the prayer:
“Lead us not into temptation,” she prayed,  “but deliver us from e-mail.  Amen.”

Faith Filled Humor–Reminding Everyone to Take Time to Laugh

Hope you all are taking time to enjoy your weekend and taking time to laugh!
The Doctor:

Specialist (to patient suffering from insomnia): “And did you try my plan of counting sheep coming through a gate?”
Patient: “Well, I counted up to a hundred and twenty thousand and thirty-nine, and then it was time to get up.”

Patient: Doctor, Doctor, I broke my arm in two places!
Doctor: Stay out of them places!

The Guest

When Queen Victoria reigned in England,  she occasionally would visit some of the humble cottages of her subjects.
One time she entered the home of a widow and stayed to enjoy a brief period of Christian fellowship.
Later on, the poor woman was taunted by her worldly neighbors. “Granny,” they said,  “who’s the most honored guest you’ve ever entertained in your home?”  They expected her to say it was Jesus, for despite their constant ridicule of her Christian witness,  they recognized her deep spirituality.
But to their surprise she answered, “The most honored guest I’ve entertained is Her Majesty the Queen.”
“Did you say the Queen? Ah,  we caught you this time! How about this Jesus you’re always talking about? Isn’t He your most honored guest?”
Her answer was definite and scriptural, “NO,  indeed! He’s not a guest.  HE LIVES HERE!”
Her hecklers were put to silence!

10 Days of Proverbs 31-Day 9

Thank you for joining for Day 9 of 10 days of Proverbs 31 “ She can laugh at the days to come” Proverbs 31:25b

Photobucket

Today is Pep Talk 101

Ok,  let’s recap these last 8 days:

  • Day 1 – We talked about lot’s of different kinds of laughter and some reason we laugh..it was kind of a silly post..but we ended with Laughter is a big topic and more serious than we think!

Does that make sense? Sometimes the hardships of this life make it hard to “laugh at the days to come” and yet it is totally possible to have this kind of deep laughter…deep joy.

  • Day 2 – True joy, laughter, contentment and trust do not come without the breaking of the heart and human spirit.  We discussed some of those issues that keep us from having that deep peace and laughter that only God can give.
  • Day 3 – We talked about how we can sometimes grow weary on this life journey we are on.  We need someone that we can tell all of our sorrows and hurts too.  Someone that will love us unconditionally.
  • Day 4 – We looked at those external things which can shake us up and rob us from our joy and try to steal our faith in a God that loves us so much.
  • Day 5 – Trusting God means looking beyond what we see to what God sees!
  • Day 6 – Being angry with God…Having faith in a faithful God is what grows us. Without experiences of having to put our faith into action we will not grow.
  • Day 7 – We talked about the physical effects on not having a joyful heart.
  • Day 8 – So here’s the message for today: DON’T TAKE YOURSELF SO SERIOUSLY!! Learning to laugh at yourself.

So the pep talk for today is..LAUGH..do whatever it takes to live the joy filled life that God has created you to live.

Do you need some outside help?  Seek after it!

Do you need some extra Faith?  Seek after it!

Do you need to lighten up on yourself?  You have my permission to lighten up and give up that perfectionism! Open-mouthed smile

Do you need unconditional love from someone?  Cry out to God,  He is waiting for you to.

Do you need to watch more comedy movies,  Read more comedy books,  surf the net for some funny jokes,  see the funny things in your life that are blinded right now because of some of the above issues..Do it!

Life can be so hard but don’t be a victim of your emotions or circumstances!

Ok I’m done..have a blessed day Smile

How about you..do have some Pep Talk tips you’d like to give?  Or maybe a prayer request you’d like to share?  Or even a praise report regarding any of these area’s in your lifeSmile
