My daughter is due to have a baby VERY soon! Yay! (It will be our 5th Grandchild) We had a Baby Shower for her this weekend and Oh the fun! Not only was it fun to see all the fun little baby stuff and have fellowship with her sweet friends but the food was deeelish! My other daughter put on quite a spread of wonderful, unique and healthy appetizers!
Well all except mine..this isn’t an original recipe by any means but what I did with it..turned out really cute! My daughter’s Theme for the new baby is Airplanes..So here is my Little Smokies Airplanes-Appetizer Recipe..
- 1 Package of Little Smokies-any flavor
- 2 Packages Crescent Rolls
- Toothpicks
- Washi Tape-a two sided tape with design on it
- Baking Sheet
Roll out Crescent Rolls and pinch together perforated seems..
After pinching together seams, I like to use a rolling pin just to flatten and spread out the dough a little more..
Then cut into 1 inch strips horizontally and down the middle once vertically.
Roll up each Little Smokie in each little strip and place on baking sheet..it seems time consuming but not at all..
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 min.
Now for the fun part! Cut 1 inch Washi Tape strips
Lay tape flat and place toothpick in the middle, place second piece on top
Cut the edges to resemble an airplane wing…um I never said that I was an aviation expert..
Insert into Little Smokies and there you have it! To cut down on just how many little Airplanes I made..I just added a little optical illusion by putting them on a smaller platter and then piled them and and put the Airplanes that I had done on top..making it look like the whole pile was done. Umm I ran out of time..
So that’s my Little Smokie Airplane Appetizer Recipe..
So later this week I’ll share the other REAL healthy Appetizer Recipes with you!
Enjoy!!
